There are three separate costs involved while volunteering at Amani – A $50 application fee due when submitting your application, a $150 logistics fee due before arrival and a nightly/weekly/monthly program fee due before arrival.
Please note all costs are in US dollars and non-refundable if your circumstances change.
Application Fee $50 (Effective 15th September 2013)
There are many applications processed for Amani which take time and resources. This is a non-refundable fee which is required whether the applicant is successful or not. No applications will be processed until the fee has been received. Please use the Pusypay feature below at the same time as emailing us your application to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Logistics Fee $150 (Effective 15th September 2013)
All successful applicants are required to pay a logistics fee. Once your application has been confirmed and your itinerary received by Amani, the logistics fee must be paid. If this is not done at the same time your dates are confirmed with us, your accommodations cannot be guaranteed for the dates of travel. Your transport to and from the airport will be covered in the logistics fee.
Program Fee (Effective from January 1st, 2014)
The rates for the program fee are as follows:
- $25 Nightly Rate
- $150 Weekly Rate
- $500 Monthly Rate
Once you are confirmed you may pay your rent through Pushpay before arriving.
So what’s included?
- Amani can house up to 9 volunteers in the fully-furnished upstairs guesthouse at the babies’ home – 3 volunteers per bedroom/bathroom.
- Bed and bath linens are provided, including a pillow
- Laundry service
- Full kitchen to prepare dinner
- Housekeeping services
- Mosquito nets
- Hot showers (provided there is power and water!)
– Two meals per day
A light breakfast is provided (fresh fruit, bread, eggs, sugar)
A cooked lunch
– Wireless Internet
– Training – In-country orientation
– Supervision – In-country staff supervision
– Amani donation
You are not only giving of your time and service as a volunteer but your stay at the guest house helps provide financially for the home. All proceeds from the Amani Guest House are non refundable they are used towards the running costs of the home; food, Ugandan salaries, electricity, water etc.
Whats not included:
We recommend you allow a weekly budget of US $60 for your other expenses such as dinner, personal items, beverages, and entertainment. Obviously if you are choosing to go on excursions or souvenir shop etc. this budget would rise.
